Wyverns are various warm-blooded feathered muscals of the family Wyvernsauridae. Most of them are capable of powered flight.

The name "Wyvern" may also informally refer to the clade consisting of Glideraptor vulturtalonus, the first "true" wyvern, and all of its descendants, which is Wyvernsauridae along with the herbivorous Strutidae, the whale-like Rostrovenatoridae, the hound-like Houndasauridae, the bird-like Avianasauridae, and the predatory bird-like Draconiraptoridae.
