Teamwork Draco

From OurFoodChain

The Teamwork Draco (Calidiuedraco similacerta) is a descendant of Calidiuedraco rhenoscallium native to Zone B that has evolved to become more carnivorous. To better tackle muscal prey such as Radivorislontus drillus or Grouping Tapiflies (Swarmisepteryx swarmentius), Teamwork Dracos have increased in size to an average of 70 cm in length, though they can grow up to a maximum of 80 cm. Additionally, the claws on their front limbs have become larger and more curved to help latch onto prey as they take them down. Unlike their ancestors, Teamwork Dracos only lay between 5 and 10 eggs at a time. This is due to the fact they now take care of the young by providing them food and protecting them from predators. The eggs are laid in a ditch dug out by the female, and take 3 weeks to develop. These youngsters will then stick with their parents to help with foraging for food and watching out for larger predators such as the Terror Hawk (Deinodraconus tromerovenator). Once a group reaches 20 members, they will split into different groups to avoid depleting the food sources in a given area. Much like their ancestors, the Teamwork Dracos have pointy scales that help with insulation along with a red dewlap that males use to attract mates.

When they work together to take down prey by using their claws and teeth, they will share the spoils with one another and will fend off scavengers that want to take meat from the kill. They feed on a wide variety of muscal prey which includes: Radivorislontus drillus, Radivorislontus ultradrillus, Swarmisepteryx swarmentius, Calidiuedraco rhenoscallium, and Killislontus killiskippus. They will also opportunistically hunt Megaslontus dencaneus, Megaslontus duruhumeropellis, and Aquerrasuchus gigaslothus when the opportunity presents itself, usually when the muscal has been crippled from an injury, plus they will scavenge on any carrion they come across. When there is little meat available, Teamwork Dracos can supplement their diet with polyphs such as the seeds of Ultraplortatus dicaulis along with the seeds and stems of Ultraplortatus firmumsus and Lorensia tallalla. Teamwork Dracos take about 3 weeks to hatch from their eggs and then take about 2 months to sexually mature due to their large brains. They can hunt once the youngsters are two weeks old but they can only hunt by themselves without assistance once they are around a month old. The average Teamwork Draco lives around 10 to 20 years.
