Scavenging Floating Fruit

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from Helix pessulus they returned back to the zone 12 due to competition as there was no predator to control their population. They developed longer tentacles to grab and hook onto stuff.
Found in zone 12 they float on the surface and their shell can control buoyancy by storing air and releasing air in its shell to sink or float so they can reach the bottom of the ocean. They use their longer tentacles to grab dead corpses or force it to the bottom to feed on biofilm and detritus. The feed on rotting seeds, seeds, biofilm, detritus and dead corpses. They asexually during winter they lay and carry their eggs in their shells. When the eggs hatch the babies come out of their parent shell and they feed on detritus and biofilm until they are big enough to feed on bigger foods and babies are fully independent of themselves. They get up to 15-30cm long (counted long tentacles 5-10cm for shell).
