Oculolophus, meaning "Seeing Crest" in Latin, is a genus of canetodes which is rather simple in structure with a sluglike body and a crest that helps in locating distance. It is blind and jawless and does not contain any true bones, but rather a tube along the back that supports the spinal cord. The starter species of this genus is Oculolophus caecus.

Description

- Uses crest for echolocating depth rather than using eyes for vision - Small in size, typically no longer than a meter in length - Jawless mouth which can open and close like lips, can swallow food whole - Low or lack of sexual dimorphism - Ectothermic, cold-blooded - Purple pigmentation is used for protection from sunlight
