Nanocalvus zephyrum

From OurFoodChain

Nanocalvus zephyrum is a half micrometer (0.5μm) Palaean. N. zephyrum is a photosynthetic methanotrophic aeroplankton. It diffuses atmospheric methane and oxidizes it for energy producing carbon dioxide in the process. The carbon dioxide is repurposed with water vapor and light energy absorbed by Carotenes in the cell to undergo photosynthesis. Due to its size N. zephyrum is carried on winds and may live high in the atmosphere.

Nanocalvus zephyrum has a cell membrane, a cell wall, thylakoids, loose genetic material throughout the cytoplasm, and enzymes. It reproduces every ten (10) to fifteen (15) minutes by binary fission.
