Extinct (April 5th, 2020): Outcompeted by Megaslontus dencaneus and M. duruhumeropellis

NAME: Aerialslontus asiniasocloes
LOCATION/HABITAT: Zone B
SIZE: 1.5 ft 2ft long
DESCRIPTION: A. asiniasocles is a descendent of A. terrastial. The species started when a population of A. terrastial started using their more powerful tails to whip their predators and defend themselves which caused them to become solitary as they no longer need to stay in groups and share extra grazing space to survive. They feed on the same food items as their ancestor: primarily L. clearensis and occasionally other polyphs,.

REPRODUCTION: Males will decorate their nest with sticks and bark, mud and fallen feathers to attract mates. The females favors favors contrast, especially brighter contrast, which caused the males to evolve patches of brighter/darker scales. Females usually lay around 3 eggs in the trunks of trees and would cover fallen foliage on their eggs to camouflage them from predators but despite this only 1-2 survive into adulthood. The female will stay to defend their eggs. Due to the females more rigorous intersexual preferences, they are no longer able to breed with the ancestor species.
