Mandopiscus predata
Extinct (July 17th, 2019): Outcompeted by Hexapiscus pelagicus.
These carnivores evolved from H. carnimendus, and prey on essentially all the muscals in zone 3 except for flotensis. They have even greater muscle mass than their predecessors, and a stronger jaw to take on larger prey. They also grow to sizes of around 10 cm, owing to their large diet and stronger propulsion. The front and rear fins are more articulated, allowing for much greater control and maneuverability.
