Hyena Shark Eel

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from M. makoprima they moved to the open waters of zone 9 and evolved a larger dorsal fin with larger front fins and a more adapted tail for moving in open waters with high speeds.
Found in zone 9 they can grow up to 1.6 feet long and go in groups of 4-12. New members can join in usually as they shoal with no aggression and swarm prey. Their glands are vestigial from their ancestor M. ostiumaxilla .With the power of numbers they swarm weak or injured prey that has flesh wounds swarming it then striking bites to injure it even more. The success rate of a hunt is 45% as weak or injured prey could out tire them and make them give up their prey for a different prey or the prey killed a pack member which the other pack members will feast on its dead comrade. They prey on G. gigas, M. charcadontolosteus and N. ferrodontus(very low sucess rate). They hunt their prey when they find weaken prey as they swarm it and they repeatedly bite until they die which then they feast.N. ferrodontus is the hardest to take down and most packs will not risk attack one but multiple packs of 3-5 packs are seen attacking N. ferrodontus as their prey teaming up temporarily for a large food source to feast on When breeding large groups go to the most shallow areas and start spawning in the masses. Females can spawn up to 60-100 eggs (but only 2-5 survive). Once they are done spawning they will separate to their own groups again. When the eggs hatch, hatchlings are 4cm long and groups of juveniles and fry would shoal and eat M. herbibiria, M. indespectud, M. gigacherax , S. angelosis , and scavenge on meat carcasses until they are beginning subadults (25cm) which they prey on small fish, sukopods and scavenge until they reach 35cm which they prey on what the adults prey and join adult packs to feed.
