Electrobrachium electrica
Evolved from Macrobrachium algaeaterensis because of the increased competition they evolved to make electric shocks. They grew larger so less predators can eat them.
Live in Zone 4. They feed on Raikos electra (to store electricity), Taxonomum extensiensus, and Algaerous yellowus. They get 10-20cm (with claws). They feed on R. electra to get electricity and have an electrical organ which is basically a second stomach that stores the electricity that can be used to shock predators with their claws. M. electrica live in colonies of 100s in burrows. They can breathe in water and air but will desiccate if they are out of water for too long. When breeding they pair with each other and mate. Females carry up to 70-150 eggs, only 5-15 survive. Until the eggs hatch the female incubates the eggs. When they hatch they are released to live in burrows in the colony. The babies will be fed by other members by the colony.
