Dynatoura necrovora

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from Nefarious plottus, the ancestor of necrovora were those who were drivin to zone’s floor due to competition. As a result of the lack of predators and decomposers, the floor had an abundance of carcasses which necrovora took advantage of. They have evolved a longer snout for feeding on carrion that still retains a dome-like shape from their ancestor, a fan shaped tail to travel faster as well as save energy while traveling, and a slightly more developed musculature in their caudal region which, in combination with their size, 40-50cm, helps them achieve a form of mesothermy which aids them in surviving colder and deeper water. While they do mainly feed on carrion, they will occasionally consume plant matter. They lay their eggs on cyanoensis, and their youngs are herbivorous, but transition to carrion feeding as they mature. In the event of a carrion dispute they will perform a ritual involving swimming in circles before trying to bite each other; a similar ritual is also performed while mating.
