Branching Druce Polyph
(Redirected from Drucerus branchingus)
Drucerus branchingus or Branching Druce Polyph is a decsendant of Drucerus laterus in Zone I which differs in that sometimes its stems branch as it grows, at an interval of roughly once every twenty centimeters, near the apex of each "hump". Increasing the amount of area it covers as it grows so more sunlight and rare rain water is are absorbed. This occurs through secondary growth nodules which appear at these intervals genetically telling it to grow branched stems. In old individuals this causes it to form a large tangled mat where walking can be more difficult. Each arm still grows one cm per week and it reproduces in a similar fashion to before, seeds at the end of each stem, including at the ends of the branches.
