Desert Wyvern

From OurFoodChain
Extinct (May 2nd, 2020): Ventricapillus hemolaimus disease

Evolved from D. albatrogornis that tried to search for more food and space to nest. They were pushed from zone B due to predation(P. purplensis ) and lack of nesting sight from A. neofoundus and P. unculodon so they moved to zone G. They became scavengers as there is no scavengers in zone G and became polyp eaters as there is only one polyp eater in zone G and have barely any competition for eating polyps. Their feathers also surround their eyes to repel sand into their eyes. They became smaller so they can be able to sustain themselves better.

Found in zone G they grow up to 1.6 feet with a wingspan of 3 meter long. They can fly for 3-4 hours and can hover/glide without moving their wings but still moving forward to gain a slight amount of stamina before flying forward again. They fed on dead carcasses, D. cendra, D. desertus and D. flitzanius. They come in small groups of 1-2 to reduce competition for food as the harsh climate can make these wyverns starve for weeks. Males have bright azure blue with sand-yellow colored scales while females are sand pale colored. They changed pigment to blend with the sand in zone G. They drink water from zone 17.

When breeding during autumn males build nests and try to attract a mate by showing off his feathers. Rival males would try to still a nest but the owner usually defends it extreme well, fights break of easily but it is not fatal but their feathers would be very messy and not fine due to all the fighting. When a female comes to a nest the male does a display to her which the female decides if he is suitable as a mate. when a female accepts the male they mate and female lays 4-7 eggs(only 2-5 survive due to no cliffs to nest so they nest on ground which young can easily be eaten by A. kinthus and T. scorpio). When young hatch the parents feed the young until they are subadult which they make them learn how to fly and hunt first then chase them off to fend for themselves.
