Common Dracopup

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from R.lunga specimens feeding a more herbivorous diet becoming a fully herbivorous diet to cope with a more herbivorous diet their digestive system had gotten longer to grind more vegetation. This species feel the niche to become the larger shoaling bottom grazers (occasionally feeding on other polyphs). They shoal in numbers to make themselves look bigger and not be picked off

Found in zone 4 they get up to a foot long. They main graze on A. okeanus but they will occasionally feed on leaves of Racomitrium species and Psylofolium species when there is a lack of A. okeanus. They can be found in groups up to 40. When provoked by their predators(T. aquatlanta, T.pelagicus, and P. unculodon) they would try to hide in the vegetation for safety

They sport a dark bluish green back with a light coloured belly as a countershading. This countershading helps it avoid its flying predator(P.unculodon) seeing them from above. Their belly still have the same pigment as their ancestor.

When breeding male and females spawn in the vegetation to allow the eggs to be hidden in foliage. Each female lays up to 70 eggs(smaller then their ancestors). When the young hatch, the fry are fully independent feeding on polyphs and hide under vegetation for cover. The smaller fry allow them to be more hidden and can feed they grow faster because there is more food around.
