B. bulbus is a fungi like organisms that independently evolved its own photosynthetic pigments. These pigments are less efficient than those of plants, but they're extremely versatile, able to be shifted, changing their arrangement, which changes the frequency they absorb and reflect. Their bodies are made up of 3/5 parts, 3 photosynthetic layers with differ color maximize absorption, a conductive/storage area at the center of those layers, and a root like structure that spreads a hyphae like structure through the ground to connect with other bulbs.
