Thanos' Cone Grass
Despite its name, Thanosâ Cone Grass is just a lowly savannah grass. Descended from Thanosâ Grass (A. chloodus), it developed a way to protect immature seeds from hungry seed-eating wyverns such as G. elachistus and G. ponticius. This comes in the form of a woody structure formed from the trunk vaguely reminiscent of a pinecone called a seed dome, which contains the seeds until they mature and fall out. This isnât perfect and seeds can sometimes become trapped, but they are usually eventually pushed out by new seeds growing behind them; ultimately, the strategy makes them less likely to be eaten while they're still developing, enhancing their reproductive success. This polyph is otherwise identical to its ancestor--it has a 2-inch tall trunk, foot-long leaves, and it reaches maturity in 2 weeks given ideal conditions. Like its ancestor, it stops growing if there isnât enough water, such as during the dry season.
