Despite its name, Thanos’ Branching Tower is just a lowly marine polyph. Descended from Thanos’ Tower (A. pyrgus), Thanos’ Branching Tower is mostly identical except for one thing--its reproductive organs are connected to long woody stems, derived from the woody connection that already existed between the trunk and the reproductive organs, which extend from their previous position in the center of its leaf clusters. This change prevents seeds from becoming caught in the leaves and not spreading far enough away to avoid competing with their parent, enhancing its reproductive success; this advantage is necessary, as unlike its older grass-like ancestors it had a tendency to be toppled before its seeds had a chance to spread.

It is otherwise identical to its ancestor. It begins producing seeds 3 weeks after sprouting, at which point it looks nearly identical to Thanos’ Marine Grass (A. okeanus) except for its long reproductive features, but it continues to grow for about another 2 years or until toppled; its maximum height is 6 feet tall in calm waters, but due to ocean currents causing it to topple and die it usually only reaches an average of 3 feet in height. Its leaves are 1-2 feet long and its reproductive stems can grow up to 2 feet in length. Like its ancestor, it reproduces asexually and its dense seeds are distributed by ocean currents.
