S. rostrodontus’s range eventually expanded to the point where it breached zone 7. Due to competition, they stayed there and being to adapt accordingly.

They inhabit the same niche as their ancestor, but now consume any oslontids whether they’re S. angelosis or Gigoslontuses under 4 feet. They will also supplement their diet with Aquaplortatus species if needed. Due to being marine, their external gills are expressed into adulthood. Both their gills and their sails have transitioned into breathing salt water, and this, as well as their lungs, have allowed them to become more active as well as grow to 2-6 times their ancestors size, with the average individual being 5-6 feet long.

After they reproduce, they will lay their eggs on algae. Once the eggs have hatched, they will begin to feed on planktons and algae before transitioning to feeding on the Aquaplortatuses(as well as faceroglutinus once they’re older) using their teeth, which will eventually develop into their beaks.
