Algaerous hostus is a species of algae evolved from A. greenensis. It grows in long strands that wrap around one another in tight, floating balls. Light cannot get through these algae balls once they reach maturity. Pulls gas out of the air and is slightly toxic. Drops random seed pods in April. Z3
