While the terrestrial ecosystems of West Aliona underwent a minor extinction event, with most of the local Dracilians and wyverns going extinct, the ecosystems around zone C1 remained far more intact. For Loricatudraco lituscursor, the disappearance of its prey forced them to adapt, pushing them into more terrestrial environments. The extinction of most wyverns and other Dracilians in West Aliona meant there was not much around to feed on the abundant small game aside from the rapidly diversifying Thalassiids. This led to some populations of L. lituscursor to adapt to hunting more terrestrial prey and eventually becoming a new species.

10 centimeters long

Undergrowlers' (Loricatudraco soricilacertus) jaws have a notch at the front with conical, interlocking teeth that help hold onto struggling prey. Undergrowlers have a more general diet. Undergrowlers will eat everything from eggs to sukopods to small tarates. Its dark brown coloration blends in with forest soils helping it avoid detection from predators and prey as it stalks in the underbrush. Undergrowlers have shrunk in size since being bigger required more energy. The armor plating on their spine and limbs still help with protecting Undergrowlers predators and protective parents. If it spots something easy to pick off like an ossuran, the Undergrowler will just snap it up.

Undergrowlers have developed an immunity towards the toxins of the Poisonous Headass (Woramus dilitrius), with antibodies that neutralize the proteins before they take effect.

Undergrowlers mate for life and rear their 3-4 young until they are capable of fending for themselves. They still breed about 2 times a year.
