Seed-Eating Tiger Varanamander

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from V. tigerstripus due to competition instead of feeding more on eggs they start to adapted to feeding on polyph seeds and continue to feed on corpses and vegetation.

Found in zone H they get 10-18cm long with subadults being 8-9cm. They live in small burrows of 40-70 individuals in one burrow colony. Their burrows are deep and large allowing larger specimens to be able to stored to the burrow or food. The burrows are found in vegetation and in exposed mud flats. found in clusters of vegetation to make it hidden. They foraging in packs of 4-12 which bring back food to the colony to feed the colony or store for a later meal.
.
They feed on seeds of C. yellionuis and P. manguca. They also feed on C. vineredensia, L. clearensis, L. subaquatica, P. cashmonii, P. marcops, and dead corpses. They usually climb up P. manguca to pick out seeds to be transported to the burrow. When provoked they will flee bipedally to their burrows or cover as they are very timid. When cornered, they will relentlessly hiss at their predators in groups to scare away their attacker. If its an predator threatening its colony they would fight off the predator in groups overpowering their predator by biting their their body parts and especially the wing membranes. Their predators are V. acrotyrannus.

Males and females have a muddy brown to green coloration with dark green to dark brown stripes to camouflage in their lush habitat.

There is always an alpha which gets the most mates and does not go out to forage. Males would often fight for the ranking of alpha wrestling each other until one is exhausted. Size does not matter when fighting for alpha as very small specimens can out last a larger specimen with better stamina.

When breeding males would mate with females in their moist burrows. The females then lay the clutches of eggs in the burrow. The eggs would hatch in the next 4 days hatching smaller versions of the adults which are brooded by the colony. When they reach subadult some would wonder off to join another colony or stay in their current colony.
