Sandwich Of Doom

From OurFoodChain

Letalibipan artemensis is a synaplot within the class bidosa. It lives within the waters of zone 26, filter feeding. It usually feed on the free swimming cells of Polysomus snealensis and particulate matter.

They are composed of 2 cell layers wrapped in a flatten tube shape. The outer layer of cells has a thick chitinous cell wall and the exposed Side is covered in cilia which they use to propel themselves through the water. The cilia allows them to move at a max speed of about 60 micrometers per second. The inner layer of cells have a thinner cell wall and the side that aren’t attached to other cells attached to any cells also possess cilia that are covered in microvilli that are used to secrete enzymes to break down microbes and particles and absorb them. Only food particles no greater than 30micrometer can enter the tube.

Growth occurs as the cells as the cells at the end of the tube divide via mitosis. Both the outer and inner cells have a diameter of 20micrometer and the body has a length of 300-600micrometer, a width of 300micrometer, and height of 60micrometer. They start out at 300micrometer, but only reproduce when they reach a length of 600 micrometer. When this happens, the cels at the center will break the bonds holding them together and split. This will create 2 daughters with a length of 300micrometers. They will split once every few days to a week.

This synaplot is named after <@!401626016398966785> for starting the bread shenanigans. The genus name literally means “reverse bread” or “reverse sandwich” as this a sandwich that consumes rather than be consumed.
