Evolved from L. submergius, some specimens spread to the tributaries of zone 16. They then soon adapted to live in the environment of zone 16 and was able to grow larger to be able to have more surface area to absorb sunlight.

Found in zone 16, they grow to a maximum of 3.5 feet tall. The stems grow in random patterns, but all start in a small area. They grow mostly submerged however when near river banks they can sometime grow immerse becoming semi aquatic. They grow in small clusters creating carpets. To adapted to the harsher flow they developed longer roots to allow them to stay in the substrate

Seed stems are shot up in November and lay at the top of the water for some time. If seed pods are hit the ground, they immediately burst open and 25-50 small seeds sprawl across the water and soil. This enables the seeds to be brought some distance. If the seed pod does not burst after a few days, the pod will simply burst. The seeds eventually fill up with water and either sprout or sink to the bottom of a substrate and sprout.
