Ancester: anchugearous fabricus (very distant)
phantom branch or, osone is called a phantom branch since it is translucent, this may seem counterintuitive since it photosynthysizes but it evolved to be translucent to avoid herbivores.

it sits on the sand underwater absorbing the sunlight and photosynthesizing. It has the same growing charisteristics of fabricus. It's outer "skin" has the same hair like protrusions. They survive in the extreme zones by producing a sort of goo which is EXTREMELY insulative. The image is misleading since it's the transparent part is actually the same goo. The "leaves" have the real leaves inside. it reproduces asexually releasing 4mm spores. which float around and spread. the spores and the plant is extremely hardy thriving in zone 4. It originated in zone 5. It is yet to spreading.
