Patellafolium flotatensis
This descendent of Taxonomum extensiensus is a larger plant occupying zone 4, (including the river on the island) that had evolved large floating leaves that it uses to photosynthesize as well as protect its seed pods, which always grow in the centers of these large leaves. The leaves can reach up to 3 feet in diameter, and the plants can grow up to 10 different floaters at a given time once it is mature. It also retains the algae-like vegetation on its stems, and while it does not provide much photosynthetic energy for the plant, it still grows quickly and prevents herbivores from eating its large floating leaves. It has no growth height limit, it always grows until it is able to reach the surface, however due to zone 4 being quite shallow it rarely exceeds 10 feet.
