OurFoodChain is a speculative evolution (“spec evo”) project organized through Discord.

History

The original OurFoodChain logo designed by Cheeto.

The Discord server was originally created by Kemberus on December 23rd, 2018. Ownership was later transferred over to Cheeto and Ctenolepisma (“Cteno”) on January 3rd, 2019.

For the first few days after the server was created, new species were accepted without being subjected to a formal review process or having to specify an ancestor species. These species came to be known as Genesis species, and form the ancestral basis of all current species. The review process was introduced on December 26th, 2018.
