Nipple Legs

From OurFoodChain

The Nipple-Legs is an oculolophid descended from B. latadorsus. Building on its ancestor’s abdominal “leg” muscles, the Nipple-Legs extended this and changed the shape, functionally dividing the muscles up into a total of 22 "legs"--11 pairs--which move in a ripple motion to pull it along at a greater speed than its ancestor. Though the legs are all one pair of organs, they are split into the individual "legs" for the purpose of ensuring that they are not damaged when it makes tight turns. Each "leg" is tipped with a "hoof" made cornified chitinous skin, helping with traction and protecting the tips of the "legs" from damage. This helps it to escape from predators, especially B. panivore. Like its ancestor, it is 20 cm long and thrives in plains.

Like its ancestor, Nipple-Legs will attempt to mate with any member of its species that it comes across. After a successful mating, the female lays up to 25 eggs which take 5 weeks to mature.

Like its ancestor, Nipple-Legs feeds on A. caesicoles and A. wetrilli. It also feeds on A. haberefortis.
