Evolved from M. pygmeus due to predation of Gigoslontus toxius they evolved a longer bottom jaw for biting chunks of meat of larger prey and eat the slime of G. toxius so it can feed different and defend itself. They also developed a venom gland from a tissues that fused and combine to from a gland that acts as a second liver. for their new appetite of G. toxius slime which the gland turns it into venom. Found in zone 5 and growing up to 1.6 feet they live in shoals of 6. They feed on the slime of G. toxius which they store the poisonous slime in their venom gland to use it as their venom. They hunt G. toxius, S. spinyensis and M. pygmeus using their venom to shock their prey which causes nausea to prey and death. The venom is made from G. toxius slime which they store in their venom gland which processes the slime and repurposes it to be used as venom. They come in packs to pick on G. toxius they bite chunks of their meat and feed on their slime. G. toxius is immune to their venom so M. ostiumaxilla only bites chunk of meats and eat their slime. When breeding they go to the shores after M. pygmeus has bred which 10-30 of them pack in and spawn like M. pygmeus, they can defend themselves on land by trying to bite anything that tries to predate them. Each female can lay eggs up to 30-90 (only 3-6 survive) eggs in the substrate. When eggs hatch they hatch with the baby M. pygmeus, crawl to the sea, and they shoal with them then they separate from them that the babies identify their own species by pheromones, they are independent. Siblings would shoal for their entire life but new pack members may join.
