Kelp Eel

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from S. pygmalongus they moved to zone 25 due to competition. They started to take advantage of the large Kelpflotensa species and live mostly in them. They now breed on top of the Kelpflotensa species instead of the shoreline.

Found in zone 25 they get up to 50cm long but have a width of only 4.5cm. They live mostly in Kelpflotensa species using their pattern to camouflage in the leaves, to spread their population they will sometimes wonder into a nearby Kelpflotensa species in order to find more prey. They hunt G. cyclopsi, M. minipygma,M. kelpcamotus, L. lavus, L.bractaxillus, young S. primus, dead carcasses and young S. kelpcetus. Even though they are mostly solitary, they will chill in groups due to the lack of space living in the dense parts of the Kelpflotensa species. They live mosty at the 'roof' of the Kelpflotensa species sometimes taking gulps of air on the surface.

Each Kelpflotensa species individuals can have up to 20 specimens depending on how large each Kelpflotensa specimen is. They have a pattern of dark green to black stripes, with overall light green to green for its based coloring with a long band on the top of its body being light green.

When breeding groups(5-20 individuals) in the Kelpflotensa species spawn on top of the Kelpflotensa species. Each female would lay up to 40-100 eggs (only 3-5 survive). When the eggs hatch they will disperse in groups of 100s (as they still have their instincts to repel from their birthplace) and are drifted by the currents to get to a Kelpflotensa or swim to the nearest Kelpflotensa. The young are fully independent and would feed on anything it fits on its mouth like Foliumnympheus species.
