Kalugaslontus vexus
Size: 15 cm
Zone: 10
Many strugenmacrops wanted to attack bigger prey than they could attack on their own. As strugenmacrops they could only attack smaller Sturgoslontus (15 cm or smaller). Young sturgenmacrops started to ban together for protection from older sturgenmacrops and found out they could hunt together very efficiently. Then they started to team up to catch bigger prey (such as subsalis and volitos). This is vexus
Looks: They are a bit smaller than sturgenmacrops because size is not a factor of hunting now. They only needed to be larger to eat their prey. Now because they hunt in groups size is not a factor in efficiency. Basically nothing else has changed.
Eating: This is the main difference between sturgenmacrops and vexus. Vexus now hunts in groups. They consist of 4-6 members of varying sexes and ages (as long as they are adults). They do this to be able to take on large species swimming in the water, such as subsalis and volitos. They hunt them entirely and do not eat and smaller Sturgoslontus now. If the "pack" is very desperate for food they will hunt them to survive, but they are not near their first choice. The pack circles the prey and nips at is continuously until it tires. When is does, the members go for the fins to tire the creature. Once they kill it they strip off pieces of flesh to eat by thrashing around to tear it off. Then they eat it.
Reproduction: When it is time for reproduction, the packs spilt apart into pairs. Once the act of reproduction and laying is over, the packs form again. Everything else is the same. The young eat sturges eggs and young until they are mature. As soon as the young are old enough (mature) they will join a pack and eat large creatures.
Defence: There is safety in numbers. The other members will defend a member against a preditor, or other creature that is trying to eat him. Because of this, a creature would have to have specific adaptations to deal with the pack.
