The Gobbling Seavyrn, also known as the Asshole Pelican, is a descendant of the Seavyrn with a preference for smaller prey. It is about the same size as its ancestor, being about 3 feet long, 2 feet tall at the hip, and having a wingspan of 10 feet. Its hunting strategy is different from its ancestor--instead of diving to snatch and kill, it dives to get a mouthful of water filled with its prey, drains the water out between its teeth, and then swallows everything it caught whole. To support this, it has a small but stretchy gular pouch, not dissimilar to that of a pelican.

One would assume that the Gobbling Seavyrn’s name refers to it gobbling up sea creatures, but in reality it refers to its distinct mating call, which sounds something like “groblroblrob”. Like its ancestor, it uses its vocalizations combined with feather dances to show off its health to potential mates. Its gular pouch also has bright orange coloration which can help show off its health as well. Like its ancestor, it nests on the shore where it lays 4-8 eggs at a time half-buried in beach sand. The eggs hatch after three weeks and the chicks are altricial, solely relying on parental care until they are 2-3 months old and can be taught how to fly and fish.

The gobbling seavyrn feeds on S. angelosis, S. primus, and F. foliumegaeus--the lattermost making up a significant portion of its diet due to its massive availability. While bound to the shore by nesting, especially if its mate died or hunts out at sea were unsuccessful, it will sometimes hunt and eat small terrestrial prey such as J. alepouvola, A. mikrapodia, and P. wichitensis if they wander close to its nest. It will also sometimes raid the nests of A. avianbeakus, like its ancestor.
