Primoplanus lavantundus, evolved from Primoplana lavancilia, specialized to feed exclusively on Stratunato virenparvus (Carpefloat) at the surface of the water. With its wide, flattened body (6 mm wide, 5.5 mm long), lavantundus floats around muching on any Carpefloat it comes across, scraping pieces off with the radula on the underside of its body.

Its cilia have congregated on the corners of its body, which helps it rotate more easily. It is now unable to dive underwater, but spends very little energy moving around the surface, having a more lazy lifestyle.

Individuals are hermaphrodites, and reproduce sexually by releasing gametes into the water.
