Fibonaccus garyus

From OurFoodChain
Extinct (May 24th, 2019): Outcompeted by Fibonaccus catagraphahumilis.

This specimen is a marine snail native to zone 4. This snail uses its radula to scrape and eat dead plant matter and dead invertebrates decaying in the sandy ocean floor (Detritivore). The Fibonaccus garyus needs calcium to build up and strengthen its shell, and may even be seen ingesting sand to get the required calcium. They are also hermaphroditic, with the ability to self-fertilize in times of need. They possess a dull pink shell (that follows the Fibonacci sequence) with dark blue speckles and a light red spiral, which they can obviously retreat into. Their body is a lighter blue, and their eyestalks (despite the name) are mainly used for their senses of taste and smell.
