Grows up to 24 inches long
Preys upon Stichodactyla toxicopoda and Jelyshelywashinshila jelouwuzzus (rarely).
Predated by Makognathusensis makonenzii and Synacodurus cannibalisii.

After their extinction in Zone 25, it seems the eels have come back in the form of the primarily benthic Dunkleognathusensis bonumanguilla.

Living on the seafloor in Zone 25 it is larger than its ancestor Dunkleognathusensis armorgedonensis, coming in at 24 inches compared to its 18 inch ancestor.

Much like its ancestor it feeds on Stichodactyla species, but also a close relative of Stichodactyla, Jelyshelywashinshila jelouwuzzus when it occasionally sees it, also unlike its ancestor the Stichodactyla species it preys on is Stichodactyla toxicopoda. When feeding on Jelyshelywashinshila jelouwuzzus they cannot feed on the entire organism, so they more often than not just rip off some of the ‘coral’’s fronds and mostly leave the ‘bell’ alone.

As mentioned Dunkleognathusensis bonumanguilla is primarily benthic, to facilitate its walking on the seafloor it has stronger leg muscles than its ancestor and while it still has lungs they go unused.

Dunkleognathusensis bonumanguilla has 2 main predators to watch out for, Makognathusensis makonenzii and Synacodurus cannibalisii, which are both larger than it and carnivores that prey on animals about their size or smaller than them. However their size does help fend off Synacodurus cannibalisii so its much more common for younger individuals to be at risk.
