Species name: therolamna magnamandibula
Ancestor: T. Pelagicus
Zone(s): 24 when some T. Pelagicus ventured into the zone form zone 3 and stayed there to avoid competition with its ancestor
Size: sexually mature females are around 1ft in length while males are usually around 4-7inches in length as a result of the different ages they reach sexual maturity since their sexual maturity is linked to size and not age. Maximum size for males is 1ft while females max out at 1.5ft
reproduction: males reach sexual maturity at age 2 while females reach sexual maturity at age 4 since females mature at a later age so their larger size allows them to hold more pups. they use internal fertilization and they hold the ovum inside the body until they find a mate that can fertilize them as an adaption to the vast empty expanses of the zone and the low density of the population, they will mate whenever encountering one of their own species male or female also as an adaption to the low population density. They can carry up to 4 well developed pups and the gestation period is roughly 4 months. Males have evolved a small channel that attaches to the cloaca in each of their pelvic fins that sperm is deposited into and then is inserted into the female

Food/Sustenance: they feed on any carcasses that float down but they their primary sources of food are A. Abyssa and T. Scythae fand will bite out chunks out of them and then flee when encountering them, their small size and blue coloration allow them to escape quickly and blend in. They have evolved this strategy as a way of saving energy in their cold and empty habitat and taking advantage of the large muscals that inhabit the zone
General description: they have evolved a jaw specialized for sawing through flesh, the lower teeth are large and triangular while the upper teeth are used for gripping onto prey and each whorl only has 2 teeth at a time and when a tooth reaches the front of the mouth it breaks off the whorl, this was selected for so the shark has a sharp set of teeth at all times and is ready to saw into carcasses or living prey. They have lost some of their adaptions for speed like their caudal keels and their pointed snout in order to save energy as they slowly swim though the deep high pressure water. Their eyes have have lost one of the 3 varieties of cones in the retina making them colorblind but compensate by having way more rods increasing their low-light vision , giving them an advantage in seeking out falling bodies or larger creature to parasitize. Their caudal spine has elongated as a deterrent to those who might try and prey on them and they have an elongated scale along their dorsal fin for the same purpose. Their metabolism has greatly slowed, reducing the amount of food needed and increases their lifespan by growing more slowly.
