Evolved from Donus desertus
A highly resilient plant found in zone G which grows primarily underground with it’s thick stem almost entirely below the surface. It’s short, paddle-shaped leaves are covered in spikes and form a cup-like shape which helps in capturing water. It stores any excess water in bubble-like chambers within the base of each leaf. It reproduces by sending out long, thin roots under the ground, the ends of which eventually sprout into new plants with the parent plant sending water and resources to the new one. This results in plants forming interconnected clusters which share resources. If the above-ground portion of one plant is destroyed the other plants in the cluster will send resources to regrow it. Due to the lack of water and other resources it grows very slowly with one plant taking between 6 and 8 years to begin growing new plants of it’s own. The aboveground portion grows to be roughly 3 inches tall and 7 inches across. The roots can grow up to 3 feet deep with the central shaft being up to 8 inches across.

Flitzanius comes from the greek word for cup.

specimen shown is roughly 10 years old
