Extinct (May 2nd, 2020): Outcompeted by U. cancrum

Reason for evolution: U.scorpio is beginning to find out its claws can be used without a need for that tail

Found in zone G the Ungoslontus gloripseudocancrum also known the the Desert clawslont is a predatory musculate that mostly feeds on the small burrowing sand wyverns found there (e.g. A.Ammotryponus) as well as occasionally on other ungoslonts like U.saharus and rarely the fiercer U.scorpio, the Desert clawslont’s mating procedure just consists of a male walking up to a female, and mating with her rather unceremoniously.

Their predators are the same as their ancestors but they have a trick up their sleeve, its not too efficient yet but they can prop themselves up partially to make themselves appear bigger and also having a bit more reach, their claws are also significantly stronger due to more muscle and thicker bones. Their feet on the outside are similar to another descendant of scorpio, specifically U.oculus, they consist of 5 spindles of pseudobone, with 3 having shrunk slightly and 2 having gotten a little longer, one of the two sticks out to create a toe for traction on the rocks, which is rather important for their attempts at propping themselves up to fend off predators, they have armor on their underside to protect from the strong heat (though the latter of those functions only happens during situations of being forced to traverse during the day due to their mainly nocturnal habits), their eggs are laid a little deeper than their ancestor to protect them from the heat, the offspring scavenge from carcasses left by larger predators until they can hunt their own food.
They tend to stick to rockier areas as they can move more efficiently there but they don’t mind walking on the sand very much, their adult size maxes out at around 27 centimeters in length due to their slightly shorter tail.
