Lorensia clearensis is descended from L. potensus and grows in Zone F. It grows in many clearings, filling in spaces that L. potensus would not. The grass grows up to 10 inches, dropping its seeds in January after blooming in December. It is green, and grows 5-10 stems from a tap root. It is displaced by larger plants. It can grow in thick patches, carpeting the ground at times.
