Cat-Eyed Bat Wyvern

From OurFoodChain
Extinct (May 2nd, 2020): Outcompeted by D. mothus

Evolved from D.oviyerious specimens that wanted to avoid competition from their own kind and V. ovicomus so they went to feed on more terrestrial species, they also become nocturnal avoid competition of daytime predators and also feed on their prey when they are asleep. To adapted to being nocturnal they developed better ears where they developed stapes which their bone originates from their skull large eyes to see in the dark. The stapes connect to the eardrum which helps amplify sound as sounds go tough solids better than on gas so the stape absorbs the vibration amplifying the sound passing through it to the nerves so sounds signals can transferred to the brain are better amplified. They also developed shorter tails to reduce drag when flight to be faster at flying when being chased by their own prey to promote blood loss when it bit its neck.

Found in zone D they grow up to 2.2 feet long and have a wingspan of 4.5 feet. During the night they feed on D. arbora, D. brunus, D. purpurus, T.purpa, T. takydromus, V. cuniculum, P. allium, V. cocotus, C. caeruleum, C.equinoxum,C. flumum, A. morspotatori, A. peregris, V. herraborealus, P.unculodo and P. vorax. In the night they are able to use their ears to hear for sound and uses its large eyes to see in the dark to catch is prey. Since most of its prey are diurnal they will try often find their prey sleeping so they have easy meals killing them in their sleep. For prey larger then itself it usually bites the neck to let blood loss kill it due to injury on a major artery they would usually flee so their prey can chase them causing more blood to be lost until it dies. Most of their pigment are now most dark green to black to camouflage in the night and hide in the trees during the day.

When breeding during autumn males manipulate their throats to make noises to attract females instead of using their feathers since they are nocturnal they need to call for a mate as flashy feathers are not as viable in the dark only up close(their eyes can't see that far and can't see the bright feathers either so they developed to call out for their mates as it can be heard from long distances as each specimen are sometimes far apart from each other). When a female found a male, the male will attempt to flirt using voice clicks (to show better health as the longer and louder shows better health when they screech) with the female to get acceptance of the male, when the female accepts his offering they will mate and go off to their own. The Male build their nest on trees for females which they would lay 4-7 eggs(only 2-5 survive). When the eggs hatch the female would raise their young until they are able to fly and fend for themselves which they would chase them off.
U can obviously tell its based off cat eyes and bats (transitioning species of the mothman based wyvern)
