Zone 9 (for now 😈)

The abundance of Bacterium flagellus in Zone 9 meant they would end up in various places. Some members were consistently getting caught in the gills of Suboslontids and Macrognathids. They could detect the blood that attracted them beyond the thin respiratory epithelium and began killing the eipthelial cells to reach the blood, once in the bloodstream they began reproducing rapidly. These members led to Bacterium kleptospiritus.

B. kleptospiritus resembles its ancestor except it is slightly smaller only growing to 3μm to get stuck in and wedge into cells to get caught in the gills and to enter the bloodstream after killing the epithelial cells. . They parasitize the respiratory epithelia and blood of Suboslontids and Macrognathids. They reproduce at a rapid rate and many around found in the water waiting to enter the gills of a host. Once on the gills of a host they will began killing the epithelial cells and consuming their proteins reproducing somewhat more slowly at once every hour. Once they reach the bloodstream they begin soaking up nutrients and reproducing at a rate of once every 20 minutes. The host will began getting more and more fatigued due to an increasing loss of nutrients to these blood parasites until the host dies of exhaustion. When the host dies B. kleptospiritus cells will flee the host's body and wait for a new host. Infected hosts will also release some cells in their waste products.
