Unlike Asperohelix gokueinsis in Zone 3, this descendant of Asperohelix aquatispika has aimed for camouflage rather than larger spikes to avoid being eaten by Rostrovenator parvus. Asperohelix harenae is the same size as its ancestor at ten centimeters (10 cm) in diameter, but has evolved a more yellowish-green toned shell color in order to blend in with the sandy bottoms on which it feeds from. It feeds on the seeds of Taxonomum polyphs, mainly Taxonomum magnideus and Taxonomum titanokelpus but is capable of digesting any other Taxonomum seed that it comes across (outcasts in abnormal ranges).

Asperohelix harenae will reproduce sexually with other members of its species but can asexually reproduce if it must. It is a hermaphrodite and stores twelve to fifteen (12-15) eggs in its shell until they are ready to hatch, after which offspring will independently fend for themselves without any parental attention or social structure.
