Antartic Cyclops Cod

From OurFoodChain

Evolved from G. cyclopsi they moved to zone 27 southern specimens wondered to zone 27 to avoid predators, they acclimated to get used to the cold waters of zone 27 but can only remain in northern parts of zone 27 as it is too cold for them to venture south. They got bigger in order to keep more warmth in them and decrease in group size (slightly) in order to sustain the whole group due to their larger size.

Found in northern parts of zone 27, they grow 7-8cm. They live in groups of 40-80. he males have vibrant colors, ranging from blue-green, but the females remain a more drab brownish-pale green color. They swim in the top water column as it is warmer then the colder deep water. They feed on Q. istus, K. antaritica, L. cytosol and N. protos.

When breeding they lay on vegetation with each female can only lay 30 eggs (they decrease egg carrying to avoid overpopulation). The young fry are fully independent and would fend for themselves.
